About the Role
The Assistant Golf Professional supports daily golf operations, assists with Pro Shop activities, and coordinates golf services to enhance the member and guest experience. This role promotes the game of golf while ensuring operations align with company policies and standards, focusing on staff training, merchandising, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Engage with members through golf events, personalized interactions, and promotion of golf programs.
- Participate in rounds of golf to support player development initiatives.
- Support the cleanliness and organization of all outside golf areas.
- Coordinate, promote, and manage tournaments and special golf-related events.
- Assist in managing the handicap program, pro-shop operations, and practice facilities.
- Provide guidance to golf attendants, pro-shop personnel, and outside services staff on customer service, tee time management, and check-in procedures.
- Maintain consistency in operational procedures for staging areas, driving range setup, and golf cart storage.
- Support the promotion of golf clinics, private lessons, and specialized programs.
- Assist with budgeting, inventory planning, and control, including stock levels, product display, pricing, and promotions.
- Assist others as needed and take on additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Follow all company, club, and department policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and commitment to excellence.
- Follow safe working practices and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
- Take initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain required certifications.
- Address and resolve challenges using available resources and collaborating with regional and corporate teams.
- Attend daily briefings and actively engage in required activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information and sensitive employee matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Commitment to upholding the highest level of ethical work standards.
- Primarily outdoor work with frequent exposure to extreme temperatures and humidity.
- Requires sitting, standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and bending.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Involves regular use of sight, hearing, and speech.
- Adherence to attendance requirements as outlined in the weekly schedule.
- Flexibility to work additional hours as needed.
- Availability to work on weekends and/or holidays as required.
