About the Role
The Commercial Finance Manager acts as a trusted adviser to partners and senior stakeholders, driving pricing strategy, profitability, and commercial decision-making within a leading international law firm.
Responsibilities
- Partner with practice, sector, and regional leadership to identify profitability and commercial performance improvements.
- Support the development of pricing strategies and commercial solutions for client opportunities and strategic tenders.
- Build financial models and deliver clear analysis, insights, and recommendations.
- Challenge and influence stakeholders to improve pricing discipline, matter management, and financial outcomes.
- Deliver training and coaching to partners and fee earners on financial management and commercial best practice.
- Support strategic initiatives led by the Head of Commercial Finance and Senior Commercial Finance Managers.
- Coach and develop junior team members to foster a high-performing culture.
Requirements
- Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) preferred but not essential.
- Experience in commercial finance, pricing, FP&A, business partnering, or similar analytical roles.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to challenge constructively and influence senior decision-makers.
- Proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in legal, professional services, or partnership-based environments is advantageous.
