About the Role

The Marketing Director defines and recommends market strategy in line with segment positioning and ensures its global implementation. Key objectives include driving profitable growth, maintaining customer loyalty, anticipating market and customer needs, and implementing new product development to achieve medium-term sales targets.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the market and gather relevant information.
• Manage customer portfolio based on product and customer profitability.
• Monitor global pricing policies.
• Develop and maintain a network of clients, suppliers, and organizations.
• Coordinate the identification of new applications or products.
• Support external communication in producing sales enablers and participating in trade shows.
• Propose adapted branding policies in line with customer segmentation.
• Lead and coach the marketing team, including recruitment, motivation, performance management, and career development.
• Drive a performance culture and customer centricity within the team.
• Ensure the application of best-practice commercial processes.
• Assess and address potential skills gaps within the commercial team.
• Ensure active participation of the marketing team in sales and marketing management routines.

Requirements

• Engineering degree or PhD in material science or chemistry, ideally completed by an MBA, or Master Degree/Bachelor’s degree in Business / Marketing or related field.
• Minimum of 7+ years of equivalent work-related experience in industrial marketing.
• Strong deep market and technical understanding of applications (needs, production process, market structure, performance).
• Excellent business sense and ability to interact effectively with people from all backgrounds and levels, and to influence others.
• Excellent leadership, project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills.
• Strong drive for results.
• Strategic understanding.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Successful track record in senior marketing roles and creating marketing campaigns.
• Proven ability to plan and manage budgets.
• Ability to use common IT tools (Excel, Word, Gsuite, Web tools).
• Fluent English.
