About the Role
Infrastructure Specialists at Kyndryl are project-based subject matter experts in all things infrastructure, providing analysis, documenting work, offering timely solutions, and generally figuring things out. This is a hands-on role where your feel for the interaction between a system and its environment will be invaluable. The role involves contributing to current projects by analyzing problems, offering solutions, and testing/modifying/automating/integrating systems, as well as long-range strategic planning of IT infrastructure and operational execution. You will be involved early to offer solutions, help decide feasibility, and identify technical and timeline risks.

Requirements
- Deep expertise within specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)
- Enterprise IT application experience
- Hands-on experience in at least one of the following: software development, DevOps engineering, systems administration, or systems architecture in public cloud AWS domain
- In-depth knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems
- Experience driving for engineering solutions
- Experience working across teams
- Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce conclusions and responses
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
- Strong process improvement experience
- Experience in one or more of the following mainframe technologies as an engineer: z/OS DB (Db2, IMS) DC (CICS, MQ) Mainframe Hardware (CPU, DASD, VTS)
- Experience in mainframe system construction or operations (approximately 5+ years)
- Ability to manage schedules using WBS
- In depth knowledge of Amazon cloud hosting architecture with experience with AWS and Azure is a bonus
- Exceptional judgment and decision-making abilities
- Familiar with a variety of IT concepts, practices, and procedures
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
