About the Role
Dixon Hall is seeking a dedicated RGI Specialist to join their Real Estate & Property Management team. This role is responsible for managing and administering the Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI) program, including calculations, annual reviews, subsidy administration, tenant file compliance, and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Schedules, issues, and receives necessary documentation from tenants for annual income reviews, mid-year changes, and household composition changes in accordance with RGI guidelines.
- Collaborates with Housing Services teams and Managers to support tenants through the annual review process.
- Seeks assistance from Case Managers and support staff for documentation and rent calculation information.
- Notifies tenants in writing of rent-geared-to-income calculation decisions per RGI guidelines.
- Maintains manual and electronic tenant files according to RGI guidelines and organizational standards.
- Notifies tenants of annual rent increases in accordance with the Residential Tenancies Act.
- Works closely with the Property Administrator, providing coverage as needed.
- Provides management support to Property Managers.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in languages other than English is an asset.
Requirements
- Community college diploma in Business Administration or related field; equivalencies will be considered.
- Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI) Certification required.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of directly related experience completing RGI calculations and annual reviews.
- Working knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act, Housing Services Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, and Landlord and Tenant Board processes.
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of community resources and services.
- Certificates in first aid, CPR, crisis prevention, and intervention are assets.
- Must be legally qualified to work in Canada.
- Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check with a 'Clear' or satisfactory result.
