About the Role

The KOBV Central Office, located within the 'Digital Data and Information for Society, Science, and Culture' department, operates services for academic, public, and special libraries in the region and conducts development projects. An academic position as a librarian (w/m/d) is available in the EU-funded state project CLAUDI – Berlin Library Cloud, starting as soon as possible. This is a full-time (39.4 hours/week) position, fixed-term until December 31, 2028.

Responsibilities

Analyze local SISIS workflows in close cooperation with the participating university libraries and KOBV project coordination, identifying necessary steps for process unification for migration to FOLIO.
Implement the migration into a FOLIO environment together with the universities and the BVB network center in Munich.
Conceptualize a management model from the KOBV network perspective for future operation by BVB, in collaboration with project coordination.
Participate in conducting training and information events for project participants and library staff.
Actively engage in the integration of KOBV into the national FOLIO community.

Requirements

Completed academic university degree in Library Management, Library and Information Science, or comparable disciplines.
Sound knowledge of library metadata standards.
Experience with integrated library management systems, ideally FOLIO or SISIS.
Knowledge of scripting on the Linux command line is advantageous; willingness to learn is required.
Willingness to travel to Bavaria (FOLIO libraries in BVB and BSB Munich).
Very good German language skills, good English language skills (written and spoken).
High degree of willingness to learn and flexibility.

Salary/Compensations

Remuneration according to TV-L (collective agreement for public service employees of the Länder) based on qualifications and professional experience with annual special payment.

About the Company

The position is within the EU-funded state project CLAUDI – Berlin Library Cloud.
The project involves the test implementation of the FOLIO library management system and the VuFind discovery system.
The goal is to migrate from the current BMS SISIS, including the transfer of all workflow processes.
