About the Role
Discord's Social team is seeking a social-savvy storyteller to bring the Discord brand to life across owned channels. This role involves drafting copy, collaborating with the creative team, analyzing performance data, and staying ahead of trends to keep Discord's voice fresh and relevant. The position reports to the Senior Social Media Manager.
Responsibilities
- Own and lead day-to-day operations of Discord's social content calendar, including copywriting, asset coordination, scheduling, and posting to @discord owned channels.
- Develop and execute social media activations to support product launches, GTMs, and broader business goals.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Creative, etc.) to coordinate and deliver content for product GTMs.
- Submit, refine, and manage creative briefs and asset requests for the creative team.
- Track and analyze social media KPIs to measure campaign success and translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
- Stay on top of content trends and develop hypotheses on user and community response to content to inform strategy.
- Source and manage contractors or freelancers to support asset production and meet campaign goals.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of social media experience, ideally at a consumer tech, gaming, or entertainment brand.
- Hands-on experience using Discord as a product and a genuine understanding of how its communities operate.
- A passion for Internet culture, staying tapped into trends across platforms.
- Working knowledge of the gaming landscape, including culture, key players, trends, and audience engagement.
- Deep understanding of major social platforms (X/Twitter, Reddit, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Discord etc.) and content performance drivers.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional content projects with multiple stakeholders and delivering on deadline.
- Comfort using data to track performance and synthesize insights.
- Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties).
