About the Role
Support and maintain Linux-based infrastructure environments while gaining hands-on exposure to Kubernetes, automation, networking, virtualization, and production operations. Contribute to the reliability, performance, and scalability of systems that support a global platform.
Responsibilities
- Support Linux and Windows Server environments, maintaining performance, availability, and security.
- Assist with virtualization platforms, server maintenance, patching, monitoring, and hybrid infrastructure operations.
- Gain hands-on exposure to production Kubernetes environments, supporting cluster operations, monitoring, and containerized deployments.
- Contribute to automation initiatives by writing and maintaining scripts and improving repeatable operational processes.
- Support CI/CD and infrastructure automation efforts using tools like Python.
- Assist with troubleshooting networking and infrastructure issues, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and production incidents.
- Participate in operational support activities, incident response rotations, change management processes, and disaster recovery testing.
- Work closely with Infrastructure, DevOps, Networking, and Engineering teams to support operations and solve technical challenges.
- Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and team initiatives.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in Systems Administration, Infrastructure Support, Production Operations, or a similar environment.
- Strong Linux fundamentals.
- Exposure to virtualization technologies.
- Foundational understanding of networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.
- Eagerness to deepen knowledge of infrastructure engineering, automation, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices.
- Motivation to learn quickly, solve problems independently, and build new technical capabilities.
- Experience with containers such as Docker.
- Some exposure to scripting or automation using Python or similar languages.
- Clear communication in English, both written and verbally.
- Comfort working closely with distributed teams.
- Ability to ask thoughtful questions and collaborate effectively.
- Organized, dependable, and comfortable supporting production environments.
- Willingness to participate in incident response activities, operational support processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Comfort working independently in a fully remote environment.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection.
- Dedicated home office or workspace.
- Ability to work overnight hours aligned to Eastern Standard Time business operations.
- Willingness to work around the Canadian holiday calendar and business schedule.
- Possess 70% of the stated requirements.
