About the Role

Speechify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Core Experiences Team. This role focuses on building and maintaining foundational services and SDKs that power the product experience across platforms. The ideal candidate will thrive at the intersection of product and infrastructure, designing reliable APIs and simple systems to enhance user experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Teams to scope projects and reduce scope for faster customer feedback.
• Navigate integration and UX tradeoffs relevant to different product teams.
• Deliver solutions via the cross-platform SDK.
• Optimize existing functionality for faster loading and more intelligent parsing.
• Design more efficient abstractions and improve algorithms.
• Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.

Requirements

• Systems thinking with an understanding of end-to-end design and the value of simplicity.
• Ability to work quickly, generate ideas, and decide on shipping priorities.
• Focus and ability to engage or work heads down in a busy, remote startup environment.
• Collaboration skills to inspire, play, and negotiate with designers, marketers, and PMs.
• Prior experience with GCP is a plus.
