About the Role

The School of Education is seeking an Associate Lecturer, Educational Psychology to contribute to high-quality teaching, research, and scholarly activity across its Initial Teacher Education (ITE) programs. This role focuses on the delivery and development of Educational Psychology subjects, supporting pre-service teachers, and contributing to curriculum enhancement and research.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging learning experiences in small and large group settings, integrating contemporary pedagogical approaches and e-learning technologies.
• Contribute to assessment design and moderation.
• Contribute to research and scholarship in Education, with opportunities to build or extend a research profile, publish in peer-reviewed outlets, and engage in collaborative projects.
• Prepare and deliver curriculum content aligned with disciplinary and professional expertise.
• Foster productive relationships with colleagues across disciplines and engage with schools and professional partners.
• Assess student work and provide constructive, timely feedback.
• Use digital learning tools and technologies to support effective teaching and student engagement.
• Undertake teaching-related administrative duties, including possible supervised course coordination responsibilities.
• Participate in meetings, committees, training, and professional development activities.
• Work collaboratively with senior academic staff while demonstrating professionalism and compliance with University policies and procedures.

Requirements

• A PhD or EdD in Education or a closely related discipline.
• Experience in high-quality tertiary teaching, including small and large group facilitation and contemporary curriculum design, delivery, and assessment, including e-learning approaches.
• Experience in developing or contributing to Educational Psychology curriculum within Primary and/or Secondary education contexts aligned with teacher and leader development.
• Evidence of emerging or established research activity, including progression from research inception through to publication in high-quality outlets.
• Capacity for, or experience in, supervising Honours and/or higher degree research students.
• Experience in, or demonstrated capacity for, collaboration with the teaching profession and community or sector partners.
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Supportive of the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University.
• Experience teaching within Initial Teacher Education programs in higher education contexts.
• Experience with blended, online, or digitally enhanced learning and assessment design.
• Evidence of engagement with school partnerships, professional learning, or applied education settings.
