About the Role
As a Calibration Specialist, you will ensure the accuracy and reliability of measurement instruments across departments. Your work directly impacts product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance by maintaining calibration procedures and identifying deviations through metrology principles.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and non-routine calibration of instruments and equipment per established standards.
- Develop and update calibration documentation, including procedures, reports, and certificates.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot calibration issues, recommending corrective actions or repairs.
- Collaborate with quality assurance and engineering teams for audits, inspections, and validation.
- Maintain calibration equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Train staff on calibration best practices and equipment handling.
- Monitor calibration schedules and maintain accurate records.
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Metrology, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in calibration of industrial or laboratory instruments.
- Strong knowledge of calibration standards such as ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540.
- Familiarity with calibration equipment, measurement techniques, and data analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manuals.
- Certification as a Calibration Technician (e.g., NICET) preferred.
- Experience with computerized calibration management systems (CMMS) preferred.
- Background in quality management systems and regulatory compliance preferred.
- Advanced training in metrology or instrumentation preferred.
- Experience in regulated industries such as aerospace, pharmaceuticals, or manufacturing preferred.
