About the Role
PayPal is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy scalable, high-performance web applications. This role involves building complex, multi-tier distributed systems, implementing features using Next.js and GraphQL, and ensuring software quality through rigorous testing and code reviews within a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable and high-performance web applications.
- Build performance-efficient, highly scalable, configurable, and available software systems.
- Define, design, and implement complex, multi-tier distributed software applications.
- Develop and maintain back-end services using REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Implement Direct Deposit features using Next.js and integrate GraphQL APIs.
- Develop object-oriented software and perform code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability.
- Segment and design technical system layers to support componentized application development.
- Identify and resolve performance, scalability, and live software issues.
- Optimize performance using monitoring tools like Datadog.
- Strengthen security by resolving dependencies and reducing vulnerabilities.
- Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure compatibility.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Implement and test UI components for iOS and Android platforms.
- Write documentation and ensure seamless knowledge transfer within the team.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Ability to work in a hybrid model with 3 days in the office.
