About the Role

PayPal is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to define and execute the mobile technology roadmap, build and lead high-performing mobile engineering teams, and drive innovation in mobile development. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver world-class mobile experiences, mentoring senior engineers, and overseeing mobile architecture and design.

Responsibilities

• Provide deep expertise in mobile technologies and architecture.

Requirements

• Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a closely related field, plus four years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
• Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a closely related field, plus six years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Skills

• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining mobile applications (Android) using Java and Kotlin (4 years)
• Experience with object-oriented programming principles in design, coding, and testing patterns (4 years)
• Experience integrating and consuming REST APIs (4 years)
• Experience using Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices (4 years)
• Experience managing source code repositories using Git, including branching, merging, and version control. (4 years)
• Experience writing and executing unit tests and UI tests (4 years)
• Experience in profiling and optimizing Android applications for memory usage, CPU load, and UI responsiveness. (4 years)
• Experience implementing and adhering to device and network security best practices (4 years)
