About the Role
Responsible for investigating and confirming the facts of loss for complex automobile accidents, determining coverage, liability, and damages. Adjusts and negotiates claims within the limit of authority, and mentors junior employees. This specialty role focuses on attorney-represented claims with values up to $100,000, primarily soft-tissue injuries with occasional complex cases.
Responsibilities
- Investigates and confirms facts of loss for complex automobile accidents.
- Determines coverage, liability, and damages for claims.
- Adjusts and negotiates claims within the limit of authority.
- Mentors and provides direction to junior employees.
- Handles attorney-represented claims with values up to $100,000.
- Focuses primarily on soft-tissue injuries, with occasional exposure to complex cases like fractures.
- Supports litigation across Northeastern states, including Maryland and Michigan.
- Recognizes and identifies vehicle body parts or other potential property damage.
- Identifies customer needs and meets them using appropriate customer service skills.
- Determines subrogation or fraud potential and how to handle for complex cases.
- Applies advanced understanding of insurance policies, the industry, and organizational relationships.
- Recommends process improvements.
- Applies increased experience in the Sr Adjuster level or a rotation into a specialty position.
- Learns how to review, evaluate, and negotiate moderate to complex/catastrophic injury claims.
- Handles investigation regarding all aspects of complex auto claims (coverage, liability, and damages) with discretion and independence within increased authority.
Requirements
- 2+ years of attorney-represented claims experience.
- Must be located in the northeastern states.
- Candidates must possess authorization to work in the United States.
- Must have a dedicated, private workspace free from distractions when working from home.
- Reliable internet is required, with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.
