About the Role

This role supports field service operations for Sungrow USA, focusing on commissioning, warranty, and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) for installed sites. The position involves troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and commissioning PV inverters and related equipment, primarily at customer sites or staging yards. A key aspect of this role is ensuring compliance with safety mandates to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical assignments involving installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of solar inverters, BESS systems, PCS, batteries, and ancillary equipment.
  • Conduct general troubleshooting and diagnosis according to Sungrow's maintenance and repair guidelines.
  • Support and perform pre-commissioning and commissioning of solar inverters and BESS systems within schedule.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance and other Long Term Service Agreement (LTSA) activities for O&M roles.
  • Investigate solar plant issues, including DC array grid faults, inverter design issues, and utility grid transients.
  • Provide feedback to engineering and project teams on potential design improvements.
  • Lead upgrade/rework projects (software and hardware) and communicate technical scope to customers.
  • Collaborate with customer SCADA engineers for system communication setup.
  • Document troubleshooting sequences and procedures.
  • Identify and document basic mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Perform basic corrective maintenance.
  • Create/modify Field Service procedures for safety, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Act as Lead when using contractors, ensuring adherence to Sungrow standards.
  • Prepare and submit Daily Activity Reports and Daily JSA Reports.
  • Resolve high-level technical issues and support root cause analysis for complex projects.
  • Coordinate with engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines.
  • Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
  • Complete documentation in a timely and organized manner.
  • Follow standard operating procedures.
  • Own the creation and submission of all field paperwork and documentation.
  • Serve as a safety second if needed.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Motivated self-starter with complex problem-solving abilities.
  • Accountable for completing tasks from inception to delivery.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work with test equipment and hand tools.
  • Ability to closely follow instructions and pre-established procedures/SOPs.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Salary/Compensations

  • $36 to $40 per hour plus OT for California, Colorado, New York and Washington
  • Compensation commensurate with experience
