About the Role

The Senior Software Developer is accountable for providing technical leadership in the design and programming of application software initiatives, including maintenance, enhancements, and the evaluation and implementation of vendor software packages.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of developers in designing, coding, and testing software applications.
  • Collaborate with project managers to define technical direction and project schedules.
  • Evaluate and implement vendor software packages, ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
  • Create custom in-house applications and enhance existing ones.
  • Analyze high-level functional and technical requirements.
  • Design software architectures, considering scalability and cross-functional needs.
  • Develop and maintain system components, ensuring adherence to coding standards.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize applications.
  • Establish effective working relationships with internal clients and partners.
  • Understand Meridian’s strategies, plans, and priorities.
  • Align development efforts with business goals.
  • Maintain existing applications, addressing bugs and performance issues.
  • Evaluate and implement upgrades to enhance functionality.
  • Document changes and provide technical support.
  • Maintain and enhance the application architecture, processes and standards.

Requirements

  • A sound knowledge of software development processes, analysis, design, tools and techniques.
  • A good understanding of resource assignment planning/monitoring/correction.
  • A solid understand of the COBIT framework and Application Development Lifecycle (ADLC) methodology.
  • Familiarity with Software Charge, Configuration Management and Build Processes.
  • A proven team builder.
  • Proven experience on enterprise systems integration projects.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan workload, meet deadlines and adjust plans to changing needs.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs with innovative solutions.
  • Capable of working with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Experience architecting, developing, deploying and supporting applications in a financial services environment.
