About the Role
Be a Superpowered member of the Company Secretariat team, helping deliver clear, high-quality governance support to the Board, senior leaders, and key stakeholders across National Grid’s subsidiary companies. Work closely with the Head of UK Subsidiary Governance and the wider team to keep governance simple, consistent, and effective across the group. Ensure smooth operations, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and support for the company’s wider governance goals. This role requires a proactive, hands-on individual who builds strong relationships, confidently moves work forward, and steps up to lead when needed, including deputising for the Head of UK Subsidiary Governance.
Responsibilities
- Deliver end-to-end governance and company secretarial support across a portfolio of group subsidiaries.
- Plan and run Board, Committee and General Meetings, including agendas, papers, minutes and action tracking.
- Maintain accurate statutory records and ensure timely compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Provide clear, practical governance advice to directors and senior stakeholders.
- Drive consistency and continuous improvement in subsidiary governance frameworks and policies.
- Support external reporting, including governance disclosures and Annual Report & Accounts content.
- Coordinate internal compliance and assurance activities, including reporting and Certificates of Assurance.
- Contribute to team success by improving processes, supporting digital initiatives, and sharing guidance and training.
Requirements
- CGI-qualified with strong expertise in company law and corporate governance best practice.
- Experienced operating across complex, multi-entity or listed group environments.
- Confident engaging and influencing directors and senior stakeholders.
- Proactive, delivery-focused team player with the ability to step up and lead.
- Strong organisational, communication and IT skills.

- £67,000 - £83,000 per annum
