About the Role

This role is part of a dedicated HSE team focused on driving health, safety, and environmental excellence across the organization. The team develops and implements policies for a safe, compliant workplace while fostering a culture of safety. Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading training initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and implement HSE policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and industry standards.
• Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring effective emergency preparedness and response plans.
• Deliver training programs to educate employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, and environmental responsibilities, promoting a strong safety culture.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections for both CDC employees and contractors, identifying areas for improvement.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety laws, staying up to date with legislative changes.
• Manage safety records and tools, supporting performance monitoring against ISO14001 and ISO45001.
• Lead emergency response efforts, minimising health, safety, and environmental impacts during major incidents or crises.

Requirements

• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Trade, Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
• Experience using HSE management software and tools for data collection and analysis.
• Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance.
