About the Role

Crystal Palace Football Club is seeking an experienced and skilled Maintenance Operative to perform and upkeep tasks including repairs, inspections, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and decorating. The role involves assisting other trades to ensure the highest level of service across club facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake day-to-day general maintenance repairs in-house for all facilities, primarily at the Academy Training Ground.
  • Perform painting work, including surface preparation, paint mixing, and protection of surrounding areas.
  • Conduct plumbing work, such as fixing leaks, unblocking drains and gutters, and shower fitting.
  • Carry out tiling and decorating work, including surface preparation, tile application, and repairs.
  • Execute carpentry tasks, such as measuring and installing shelves, cabinets, handles, and locks.
  • Prepare facilities for home matches.
  • Conduct regular checks and repairs on lights, toilets, and seats.
  • Complete work in accordance with Crystal Palace specifications and relevant legislation/industry best practices.
  • Adhere to operational procedures, safe working practices, and Health and Safety procedures.
  • Provide general support and assistance to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Inspect the Training Ground and Academy and adjoining structures daily and weekly to ensure they are well-kept.
  • Complete works at other Crystal Palace Football Club grounds and facilities, including the Academy Training Ground.
  • Perform other duties as required by the line manager.
  • Uphold and promote the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding, and Equal Opportunities.

Requirements

  • Experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Experience in plumbing, painting, decorating, carpentry, and general maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read manuals and drawings.
  • Experience using hand and electrical tools.
  • Experience working in large-scale stadiums/buildings.
