About the Role

We are currently looking for 4 Vehicle Technicians to join our Old Oak Common Depot, responsible for carrying out planned and corrective maintenance on the class 345, Elizabeth line fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and corrective maintenance on the class 345, Elizabeth line fleet.
  • Perform MOT style exams, wheel lathe tasks, depot operations, corrective fault or vandalism repair, train preparation and safety checks.
  • Undertake all work to a high professional standard to ensure a safe, reliable, and defect-free train.
  • Undertake technical maintenance to the required standards and in accordance with all maintenance instructions.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all maintenance documentation prior to Shift Production Manager (SPM) validation and authorisation.
  • Identify outstanding work at the end of the shift.
  • Operate powered plant, lifting and mechanical handling equipment.
  • Identify and report problems with processes, tooling, and documentation to the Shift Production Manager / Facility Management Team.
  • Highlight potential Health and Safety concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with all laid down H&S legislation and depot procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area to the highest standards.
  • Support the SPM regarding delivery of Quality, Waste Reduction, Delivery and EHS targets.
  • Produce comprehensive reports on specific fault finding investigations.
  • Identify potential improvements and provide feedback to Engineering.
  • Continuously search for ways to improve processes.
  • Coach staff in good working practices and quality standards.
  • Support the Shift Production Manager in identifying training needs.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 electrical qualification or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate excellence in approach to work and people activities.
  • Practical hands-on approach to problem solving.
  • Safety Critical Competencies.
  • Fault finding electrically and mechanically.
  • Highly self-motivated individual, able to work under own initiative.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
