About the Role

The Civil/Structural team tackles complex and demanding structural engineering problems, often involving dynamic load effects from extreme hazards like seismic, blast, and impact. This role requires looking beyond code checks to understand structural response and failure mechanisms, including ductility, nonlinear buckling, and soil structure interaction. It involves collaborative problem-solving, starting from first principles, researching methodologies, challenging assumptions, and continuous learning to meet the highest standards. Analysis models are rigorously validated and justified through independent review and regulatory approval, making this a varied and challenging role for a civil/structural engineer.

Responsibilities

Inter-discipline project planning, delivery, and financial performance
Provision of technical quality and excellence for project deliverables
Providing technical and professional guidance, support, and development to junior engineers and technicians
Adherence to and contribution to business and quality management systems
Ensuring operational and design safety, and developing a good safety culture

Requirements

Good all-round technical design expertise using British and international standards, and/or Eurocodes
Proven ability to manage projects and prepare project deliverables, including managing quality, budget, programme, and resources
Proven ability in preparation of bids and proposals, and developing good working relationships with clients
