About the Role
Provision of psychiatric and medical care to patients, including admitting and providing care under a supervising psychiatrist. Conduct outpatient sessions and participate in training, research, quality improvement, and teaching activities. Coordinate patient care within a multidisciplinary team and maintain timely documentation.
Responsibilities
- Admit and provide psychiatric care to patients under the supervising psychiatrist.
- Conduct outpatient sessions at the Burwood Medical Centre if required.
- Participate in Psychiatric Registrar Training Program activities.
- Participate in research and quality improvement activities.
- Participate in teaching activities with medical students.
- Coordinate patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain timely documentation, including progress notes, drug treatment charts, prescriptions, authorities, and transfer/discharge summaries.
- Complete interim discharge summaries within 48 hours and final discharge summaries within 14 days of discharge.
- Act as a resource and support to Unit Managers and other clinical staff.
- Organize own workload in collaboration with a supervisor to complete duties within agreed timeframes.
- Assist in providing ward cover to the hospital if required.
- Provide support to clinical staff in an emergency response procedure when required.
Requirements
- All caregivers employed by St John of God Health Care are required to be vaccinated from Influenza.
