About the Role

Provide primary medical care under physician supervision, assisting patients in recovering from acute illnesses and minimizing the effects of chronic conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition through medical history, physical data, and medical record review.
• Adhere to accepted medical practice standards and departmental policies for risk management.
• Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures for illness evaluation.
• Interpret and integrate data to determine diagnosis and treatment plans.
• Consult with supervising physicians according to policies and medical standards.
• Record patient information, including symptoms, findings, assessment, and treatment plan, in the patient's chart.
• Instruct patients and families on diagnosis, testing, treatment, expected outcomes, and prevention.
• Evaluate treatment plan outcomes through review of diagnostic results and patient follow-up.
• Perform organizational responsibilities to achieve the organization's mission through quality improvement.
• Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• CT State PA license required.
• DEA/State controlled substance license required.

Skills

• Significant manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity.
• Ability to exert up to 35 lbs. of force.
