About the Role
Provide primary medical care under physician supervision, assisting patients in recovering from acute illnesses and minimizing the effects of chronic conditions.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition through medical history, physical data, and medical record review.
- Adhere to accepted medical practice standards and departmental policies for risk management.
- Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures for illness evaluation.
- Interpret and integrate data to determine diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Consult with supervising physicians according to policies and medical standards.
- Record patient information, including symptoms, findings, assessment, and treatment plan, in the patient's chart.
- Instruct patients and families on diagnosis, testing, treatment, expected outcomes, and prevention.
- Evaluate treatment plan outcomes through review of diagnostic results and patient follow-up.
- Perform organizational responsibilities to achieve the organization's mission through quality improvement.
- Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- CT State PA license required.
- DEA/State controlled substance license required.
Skills
- Significant manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity.
- Ability to exert up to 35 lbs. of force.
