About the Role

Permanent opportunities exist for experienced 'hands-on' Assistant Production Managers on morning or afternoon shifts at our Riverwood site, South-West Sydney. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will manage a team of food process operatives, ensuring production schedules and KPIs are met. These roles offer a chance to broaden your skill set and make a lasting impact.

Responsibilities

  • Daily supervision and direction of a small production team
  • Provide daily team support and review staff performance
  • Coordinate on-the-job staff training and assessment
  • Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and efficiency standards across production lines
  • Ensure team compliance with health and safety standards and report near misses and hazards
  • Maintain accurate food safety and production records
  • Organize the work area and maintain GMP standards
  • Oversee production lines' supply of raw materials and components
  • Conduct physical inventory checks for stock verification
  • Troubleshoot production issues and escalate equipment malfunctions
  • Contribute to minimizing food wastage

Requirements

  • Background in food manufacturing/preparation and/or large volume commercial kitchen facility, operating food production equipment
  • Sound understanding of GMP, HACCP, and Food Safety practices
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Good interpersonal skills to work with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to give clear instructions to the team and manage team performance
  • Ability to inspire and motivate the team
  • Dedicated with strong work ethic and 'can-do' attitude
  • Able to work in a fast-paced production environment with changing priorities
