About the Role
LAB3 is seeking a Principal Technologist in Sydney to join their pre-sales/client engagement team. This role involves architecting solutions for clients by understanding their strategic business needs and designing cloud infrastructure solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead client consultations to understand strategic business needs and design cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Own the technical relationship with strategic customers, engaging with stakeholders at all levels to understand their strategy, motivators, business drivers, challenges, and requirements.
- Develop, communicate, and present solution options to senior management and enterprise stakeholders.
- Lead the formulation of customer technical strategies and roadmaps, demonstrating client value through the integration of LAB3 products and services.
- Ensure customer technical strategy and roadmap remains current, well-socialized, and communicated.
- Work with LAB3 partners to drive strategic and technical alignment.
- Provide technical leadership to LAB3 sales and solutions teams, ensuring high-quality and effective solutions.
- Actively participate in the pre-sales process, leading technical discussions, product demonstrations, and proof of concepts.
- Participate in and lead technical governance forums internally and with customers.
- Act as a technical escalation point during major and critical incidents, driving service restoration, root cause identification, and preventive measures.
Requirements
- Senior level consulting & enterprise architecture experience, including in an Azure infrastructure environment.
- Proven track record of understanding large, complex environments and navigating senior stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable and robust technical solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Width and depth of technical skills for high- and low-level architecting and solutioning.
- Broad knowledge of Enterprise IT and common Architectural Patterns.
- Broad knowledge of On-Prem and private cloud architectures and familiarity with migration and modernization approaches.
- Broad knowledge of Microsoft Well Architected Framework.
- Broad knowledge of M365 and associated services.
- Broad knowledge of Common Application Architectures, particularly cloud-native.
- Broad knowledge of Azure Data and Cognitive Services.
- Broad knowledge of Containerisation and Orchestration tooling and Microservices Architecture.
- Broad knowledge of Cloud Security Concepts, Posture Management (CSPM) and Azure Security Services and Baselines.
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Associated Services.
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft’s CAF and Key Design Areas.
- Deep knowledge of DevOps principles, concepts, and tooling.
- Hands-on experience configuring GitHub \ Azure DevOps repositories, policies, and pipelines (Desirable).
- Experience with IaC tooling, hands-on experience with Terraform or similar (Desirable).
- Familiarity and knowledge of Service Management (ITIL) processes (Desirable).
- Certifications related to Microsoft & Azure, DevOps, IaC and architecture (Desirable).
