About the Role
Crystal’s finance function is seeking an individual with strong accounting fundamentals and a curiosity for AI and automation to improve financial operations. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role offers growth beyond traditional accounting into finance operations, systems, automation, and leadership. It involves working across month-end close, billing, collections, financial reporting, audit, and tax compliance, with opportunities to improve data flow between systems like QuickBooks, Ramp, and Salesforce.
Responsibilities
- Work across month-end close, billing, collections, and financial reporting.
- Own audit and tax compliance functions.
- Take on special projects spanning departments, connecting systems, building automated workflows, and exploring AI tools to reduce repetitive work.
- Improve data flow between applications like QuickBooks, Ramp, and Salesforce.
- Learn and own Crystal’s close process, billing infrastructure, and system landscape.
- Identify and address inefficiencies in financial operations.
- Map data flows between QuickBooks, Ramp, and Salesforce, and automate manual handoffs.
- Experiment with AI tools to automate recurring finance tasks.
- Manage the annual financial statement audit.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly sales tax returns.
- Liaise with the external tax team for timely tax filing.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in audit, accounting, financial operations, or a finance-adjacent role.
- Solid understanding of the month-end close process, reconciliations, journal entries, and GAAP fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, Ramp, and/or Salesforce preferred.
- Familiarity with how systems like QuickBooks, Ramp, and Salesforce work and where they fall short.
- Genuine curiosity about AI and automation tools.
- Comfort learning new technical skills on the job, such as connecting systems through APIs, using AI coding tools, or building workflows in AI tooling.
- Strong attention to detail and a track record of clean, reliable work product.
- Team lead or coordination experience is a plus.
- SaaS or healthcare technology experience is a strong plus but not required.
