About the Role
The Housing Ambassador provides for the health, safety, and well-being of Home Free residents during overnight, swing, and occasional weekend/holiday shifts. This role is essential for creating a safe and supportive community, intervening in emergencies, and ensuring participants are safe and secure.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of participants and the complex during after-hours shifts.
- Respond to emergencies and participant needs after hours, contacting the Program Manager when necessary.
- Assess and respond to participant needs, requests, and complaints in a timely, effective, and respectful manner.
- Maintain positive relationships with participants, showing sensitivity to cultural backgrounds and special needs.
- Adhere to Fair Housing and Equal Housing Opportunity requirements.
- Respect and follow house rules, reporting any violations to the Program Manager.
- Monitor the facility and participants after business hours.
- Interact with residents while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Log information upon arrival and at the end of each shift.
- De-escalate potential client conflicts.
- Inspect facilities to maintain security and program compliance.
- Answer phones, take messages, and respond to information requests professionally.
- Complete and submit maintenance requests for equipment failures or needed repairs.
- Respond to participant requests and questions professionally and courteously.
- Report any problems to the Program Director immediately.
- Manage site-specific emergencies or crises under the direction of the Program Director.
- Provide crisis intervention as directed by the Program Director.
- Participate in daily shift change meetings, communicating all issues and concerns to the next shift staff.
- Ensure paperwork is complete and the workspace is clean and organized at the end of each shift.
- Encourage participants to engage in groups, activities, and services.
- Facilitate groups, workshops, and client meetings as needed.
- Attend all staff meetings and trainings, even if outside regular work hours.
- Participate in all applicable staff trainings and staff meetings.
Requirements
- Must be female.
- Must submit proof of clear TB results dated within 60 days prior to hire date.
- Must wear provided PPE and adhere to all safety guidelines when needed.

Experience Level
