About the Role

The Senior Manager – Japan Commercial FP&A leads finance reporting, financial forecasts, and planning activities for one or multiple Franchise Business Units. This role requires strong project management, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines. It is an individual contributor role that necessitates collaboration with peers and senior leaders, requiring self-motivation, analytical skills, and effective presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

Partnering with Franchise Business Unit Leaders (BULs) and other franchise leadership team members on key business and financial planning activities, including strategic direction, business development, resource optimization/management, and investments planning.
Ensuring sales and expense forecasts and phasing are achievable and supported by valid assumptions and sensitivities to communicate potential variability to business unit leadership.
Establishing, monitoring, and providing course adjustments for business units’ financial goals and objectives.
Managing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes and associated analysis and reporting.
Working proactively with the business to understand future financial information needs and produce efficient solutions.
Participating in and managing ad hoc projects as needed.

Requirements

At least 5 years of FP&A experience and dealing with senior management.
Excellent financial modeling skills.
Excellent PC skills (Excel, SAP, Qlik, and PowerPoint).
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including oral and written.
Fluent in Japanese and business level English.
Strong analytical and presentation skills.
A high degree of accuracy with attention to detail.
Knowledge of the Japan pharmaceutical operating model.
Experience in a foreign affiliated pharmaceutical company is a plus.
MBA in Finance is a plus.
