About the Role
BGIS is seeking an experienced General Manager, Contracts – NSW & ACT to support the ongoing success of a significant portfolio of client partnerships across New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. This role involves working closely with clients, operational teams, and business support functions to ensure strong service delivery, sustainable commercial outcomes, and positive stakeholder experiences. It is well-suited for someone who enjoys building relationships and fostering thriving teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the overall operational, financial, and strategic performance of the NSW & ACT contract portfolio.
- Deliver revenue, margin, profitability, retention, and growth objectives aligned with business targets.
- Develop and implement strategic account management plans that strengthen long-term client partnerships.
- Oversee contract performance, service delivery, compliance, KPI achievement, risk management, and governance requirements.
- Collaborate across BGIS service lines to identify opportunities for integrated solutions and increased client value.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
- Champion a culture of safety, compliance, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Lead, coach, and develop leaders and teams while supporting succession planning and capability development.
- Drive innovation, best practice, and cross-functional collaboration throughout the business.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative, contractual, quality, environmental, and safety requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years' experience in senior leadership roles within facilities management, property, corporate real estate, or similarly complex service environments.
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale contract portfolios with responsibility for operational and financial performance.
- Strong commercial and financial management capability, including budget accountability, profitability, and business planning.
- Proven experience developing strategic client relationships and delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams within complex matrix organisations.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, communication, and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to use data and performance insights to support decision-making and accountability.
- Experience working within quality, safety, environmental, and compliance frameworks.
- Proficiency across Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience within integrated facilities management environments (Desirable).
- Knowledge of integrated property management systems (Desirable).
- Experience leading large geographically dispersed teams (Desirable).
- Exposure to contract renewals, business growth initiatives, and strategic account expansion programs (Desirable).
- Full working rights in Australia.
