About the Role

Vapi is seeking an engineer to close the SDLC gap in their deployment processes. You will own progressive delivery, GitOps across multiple clusters and regions, and on-demand environment tooling. Success will be measured by the speed and safety with which other teams can ship code.

Responsibilities

• Own progressive delivery (canary, blue/green, automated rollback, soak periods).
• Own the GitOps story across multiple clusters and regions.
• Own on-demand environment tooling.
• Get fluent in Pulumi stacks, ArgoCD setup, and GitHub Actions pipelines.
• Identify and address top deploy pain points for engineers.
• Implement quality-of-life improvements to the deploy pipeline.
• Own progressive delivery end-to-end for critical service paths.
• Ship the first version of cell-creation tooling or preview environments.
• Make the deploy pipeline measurably faster.
• Roll out progressive delivery as the default across services.
• Establish SLAs and a feedback loop with engineering teams.
• Own the developer-platform roadmap.
• Partner with Infra and SRE on cell creation, multi-region rollouts, and oncall tooling.

Requirements

• Platform-as-a-product mindset, treating internal engineers as customers.
• Experience operating Pulumi (TypeScript) or Terraform at scale (40+ stacks, multi-region).
• Experience running ArgoCD or equivalent GitOps for deploying applications across multiple clusters.
• Experience building progressive delivery in production (canary, blue/green, automated rollback, soak periods).
• Ability to describe a real rollout where automated rollback was effective.
• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred) for multiple services and Dockerfiles.
• Experience building deploy tooling for on-demand environments (preview envs, dev deployments, or cell creation).
• Experience writing Go for platform services.
• Experience operating developer platforms at a mid-stage infra-heavy company or a DevEx team at a larger shop.
