About the Role
We are seeking a Commercial Account Associate, Complex Risks in Toronto to support our Commercial Lines Insurance accounts. This role requires responsiveness, strong time management, and property and casualty experience, ideal for someone with technical and systems expertise.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial client accounts, including renewals, policy documentation, submissions, binders, certificates, and invoicing.
- Maintain accurate digital and physical client files in compliance with HUB standards and broker management systems.
- Support clients by responding to inquiries, preparing renewal packages, and participating in client meetings.
- Review and proof policies, calculate provincial taxes, prepare premium finance quotes, and ensure accuracy of account documentation.
- Monitor receivables, assist with collections, and help minimize Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
- Coordinate with underwriters on submissions, follow up on outstanding items, and support market negotiations for commercial policies.
- Track abeyances, expiries, and reporting requirements to ensure timely processing and service delivery.
- Perform administrative support tasks, including database management, third-party requests, and insurance-related research.
- Ensure compliance with HUB standards in file management, including preparing files for storage.
Requirements
- Valid RIBO license required.
- Typically, 2-3 years of commercial insurance experience.
- Experience in market negotiations on commercial policies is an asset.
- Strong aptitude to learn new risks and keep up to date with emerging trends.
- Results-oriented and passionate, with a strong sense of accountability and client management skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organization and prioritization skills.
- A solid team player who also possesses independence of thought.
- Proactive client-focused approach with effective negotiation and follow-up skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel (formulas and pivot tables), PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience with Applied EPIC or similar insurance broker management systems.
