About the Role
BRG Transaction and Valuation Opinions provides valuation services for a variety of client needs including transaction opinions, portfolio valuation, tax and financial reporting, litigation, and special situations. We serve leading hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, limited partners, lenders, corporations, boards of directors, independent directors, and attorneys. We seek individuals with proven management skills, strong financial modeling abilities, valuation expertise, and a desire for leadership and business development growth.
Responsibilities
- Analyze historical and projected financial information.
- Develop detailed financial models to value companies and complex securities.
- Direct junior staff in developing detailed financial models to value companies and investments.
- Efficiently manage the aggregation and organization of large data sets in Microsoft Excel.
- Leverage financial and market data software platforms such as Capital IQ and Bloomberg.
- Present thorough valuation analyses to clients consistent with project scope.
- Consistently meet client deadlines and quality expectations.
- Maintain an organized, methodical, and professional demeanor.
- Take ownership of the work product, including analyses developed by junior staff.
- Communicate project status and results both internally and externally.
- Effectively manage the deadlines of project tasks undertaken by junior staff.
- Demonstrate strong report writing skills.
- Participate in a team environment and collaborate to share responsibilities towards attainment of team goals.
- Actively seek out opportunities for practice development projects and personal leadership skill development.
- Actively participate in BRG’s business development activities, including client meetings and presentations.
- Be ready to expand your network with clients to become a trusted and reputable advisor.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or other related field of study.
- Five to seven (5 to 7) years of prior valuation work experience, preferably with a national accounting firm or valuation firm.
- Experience as a key team member leading the development and ultimate completion of client-ready valuation deliverables (or similar client service deliverables).
- Candidate must be able to submit verification of his/her legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.
