The ideal candidates will be collaborative, proactive, and creative problem-solvers with strong analytical and communication skills, committed to advancing technology, building performance, and sustainability in design and construction.
Responsibilities
- Manage project teams
- Create project proposals and fees
- Review contracts and invoices
- Interface with clients
- Lead multiple projects independently
- Collaborate on larger-scale projects as part of a team
- Balance demands on multiple projects at various stages of development
- Develop designs with an understanding of building systems, sustainability requirements, accessibility, and code compliance
- Provide solutions that are unique and engaging while tailored to the client’s vision and project requirements
- Lead teams in a collaborative environment
Requirements
- 10+ years of New York-based project management experience at an architectural or interior design firm
- Experience working on large commercial office, mixed-use, civic, academic, cultural, or other complex projects
- Experience managing project teams, creating project proposals and fees, reviewing contracts and invoices, and interfacing with clients
- Capable of leading multiple projects independently as well as collaborating on larger-scale projects as part of a team
- Ability to balance demands on multiple projects at various stages of development
- Ability to develop designs with an understanding of building systems, sustainability requirements, accessibility, and code compliance for solutions that are unique and engaging while tailored to the client’s vision and project requirements
- Strong technical knowledge of Type I, Type II construction, construction detailing, building materials, and systems
- Experience in LEED documentation and certification, space programming, space planning, workplace strategy, entitlements, planning approvals, and other relevant facets of commercial architecture and planning is desirable
- Licensed Architect in the State of New York is ideal
