About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Coastal Engineer to work with multidisciplinary teams on unique and challenging projects across many of our regions.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute coastal modelling studies
- Develop hydrodynamic and wave models
- Perform wave runup, overtopping, and flooding analyses
- Support design of marine and coastal infrastructure
- Size armourstone and coastal protection systems
- Interpret metocean and climate data
- Prepare technical reports and client deliverables
- Support multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Mentor and coach junior staff
- Lead the proposal and business development process
Requirements
- Degree in Civil, Coastal, Ocean, or Water Resources Engineering
- Preference for a Masters or PhD in a related program
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
- Experience in Coastal and marine hydrodynamic modelling
- Experience in Wave modelling and wave runup analysis
- Experience in Current modelling and sediment transport
- Experience in Sea level rise and coastal flooding assessments
- Experience in Armourstone sizing and revetment / breakwater design
- Experience in Numerical modelling for marine infrastructure design
- Experience in Port, harbour, shoreline protection, and coastal structure projects
- Experience in Climate resilience and adaptation for coastal infrastructure
- Consulting experience preferred
- Experience delivering engineering design packages and technical reports
- Project experience, working on projects such as marine terminals, breakwaters and revetments, harbour and port infrastructure, shoreline stabilization, etc.
- Experience with LiDAR, bathymetry, and metocean datasets
Skills
- MIKE21 / MIKE Powered by DHI: Hydrodynamic (HD), Spectral Waves (SW), Sediment Transport (ST) and Coupled Modelling
- GIS software (ArcGIS or QGIS)
- AutoCAD / Civil 3D
- Python or MATLAB for data analysis and automation
