About the Role
Provide brief, solution-focused mental health support to youth and families experiencing crisis. Partner with families and treatment team members to build safety, strengthen resilience, and connect youth to the support they need to remain safely in their communities.
Responsibilities
- Provide crisis management and intervention for youth referred by the San Francisco child welfare system, San Francisco’s Department of Public Health, SFUSD, and the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU)
- Complete risk assessments, crisis counseling, creation of behavioral plans and safety plans
- Participate in all treatment reviews, family team meetings and program staff meetings
- Complete documentation identified by supervisor in a timely and satisfactory manner
- Collaborate with team members including Child Welfare Workers, caregivers, school staff, therapists, and case managers
- Participate in weekly individual supervision and group supervision
- Maintain professional behavior at all times, appropriately representing Seneca’s mission and philosophy
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree OR Associate’s degree or equivalent + 1 year of applicable experience OR High School Diploma/GED + 2 years of applicable experience
- Applicable experience can include paid or unpaid experience working with youth or families or working in the social services field
- Own vehicle, Valid California driver's license required
- Strong communication skills and flexibility
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
- Preferred at least 9 months to 1-year experience in working with children with mental health needs in out of home care
