About the Role

Join our Residential Team as a Direct Support Professional and make a real impact by supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in their daily lives. Assist with personal care, household tasks, community outings, and recreational activities to create a safe, supportive home environment where individuals can grow and thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Provides hands-on assistance, instruction, and training to individuals to develop skills in daily living, including communication, social, recreational, self-care, household management, travel, vocational opportunities, and money management, in accordance with an individualized plan of service and safety considerations.
  • Provides training opportunities to enhance self-sufficiency in independent living.
  • Promotes agency mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • One year of relevant experience or an equivalent amount of education/experience preferred.
  • If driving is required, must have reliable transportation, a NYS driver's license, and a safe driving record for one full year prior to hire date.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form.

Salary/Compensations

  • $18.50 - $19.70 per hour
  • $17.50 per hour (per diem/substitute)
