About the Role
Make a meaningful difference by ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for individuals with developmental disabilities while they sleep. Provide support with evening and morning routines, perform regular safety checks, assist with personal care as needed, and complete household tasks. Your presence provides peace of mind and continuity of care through the night, helping individuals feel secure and supported.
Responsibilities
- Provides hands-on assistance, instruction, and training to individuals in various aspects of daily living, including communication, social, recreational, self-care, household management, travel, vocational opportunities, and money management, in accordance with an individualized plan of service and safety considerations.
- Provides training opportunities to enhance each person's self-sufficiency in independent living.
- Promotes agency mission, vision, and values.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years old.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- One year of relevant experience or an equivalent amount of education/experience preferred.
- If driving is required, must have reliable transportation, a NYS driver's license, and a safe driving record for one full year prior to hire date.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form.
