About the Role
Vestwell is expanding and seeking entry-level Operations Associates passionate about changing the retirement Fin-Tech space. This role is key to powering platform transactions, ensuring operational speed, and exercising independent judgment to resolve complex issues affecting client outcomes and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Independently identify, investigate, and resolve complex, high-priority issues within established operational and regulatory frameworks.
- Evaluate multiple potential courses of action, assess risk, urgency, and business impact, and determine appropriate remediation and escalation paths.
- Apply policies and standards to specific situations, prioritize work, and drive resolutions to completion, interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain internal and client-facing knowledge bases.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and raise recommendations based on analysis and risk assessment.
- Support and guide team members by monitoring workload, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring timely remediation of operational issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to surface operational insights, document trends, and contribute to platform enhancements.
- Maximize team efficiency by completing assigned tasks and projects, triaging and assigning incoming work based on urgency and service-level expectations.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in payroll, deferrals, eligibility, and related activities, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with ERISA and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Strong Excel proficiency (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) for data analysis and decision-making.
- Comfort working autonomously in a start-up environment while adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Exceptional analytical and detail-oriented aptitude with a high degree of accuracy and sound judgment.
- Ability to manage time effectively, balance competing priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for documenting findings, explaining recommendations, and escalating issues.
- Problem-solving skills, including research, analysis, and applying judgment to determine next steps or escalation paths.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of formal education and work experience.
- 1 year of relevant experience in Financial Services, Operations, or SaaS industries.
- Payroll system experience.
- Proficiency with productivity tools, especially JIRA.
- Retirement industry experience including exposure to ERISA-governed processes or regulated operational environments.
