About the Role

WEIS is seeking associates who are passionate about teamwork and the growth of its associates and communities. This role ensures the produce department is well-stocked and appealing, provides excellent customer service, and maintains department sanitation and organization.

Responsibilities

• Keeps produce department well stocked and appealing to meet customer demands.
• Smiles and greets customers, answers customer questions, handles special requests, and resolves customer concerns promptly.
• Unpacks, cleans, trims, and stocks merchandise.
• Ensures merchandise is in saleable condition by rotating stock for freshness.
• Ensures product is properly priced with correct signage.
• Maintains salad bar and cut fruit/vegetable.
• Assists in building attractive displays.
• Accurately completes necessary product logs.
• Handles spoiled, damaged, new, and discontinued items according to company policy.
• Maintains general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and guidelines.
• Ensures work areas, equipment, and display cases are clean and meet health and OSHA requirements.
• Disposes of trash properly.
• Assists in minimizing shrink and controlling damages.
• Reports shortages and overages to the manager.
• May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries.
• May assist with baling cardboard or other related duties.
• Ensures smooth function of the department and store by cooperating with co-workers and superiors.
• Continuously improves job performance.
• Utilizes all company-provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE).

Requirements

• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without an accommodation.
• Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• No prior experience required.
• Training provided for specific tasks.
• Must be properly trained to operate power jack or hand jack if assisting with deliveries.
