About the Role
The successful candidate will support the development and implementation of the engagement process handbook and associated risk management activities, while monitoring the regulatory stewardship landscape. This role also involves operational support for the Research & Engagement team, including strategy, budget, and reporting processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and disseminate the engagement process handbook to ensure quality and consistency.
- Create relevant templates for preparatory materials and outputs to maximize efficiencies.
- Stay updated on the regulatory landscape for stewardship activities in key regions.
- Drive risk management activities in line with FAIRR’s anti-trust guidelines and risk register.
- Maintain anti-trust guidelines and organize annual internal training for compliance.
- Contribute to the Stewardship Risk & Compliance Committee quarterly.
- Provide coordination support and guidance across collaborative engagements.
- Coordinate R&E team communications to investor members, ensuring internal alignment and cross-functional collaboration.
- Coordinate the production of communication materials for investors on engagement progress and market insights.
- Support event coordination, including investor and company meetings.
- Support the Director of Thematic Research & Engagement during the annual strategy and budget process, and quarterly reporting activities.
- Develop strong working relationships with colleagues to enhance collaboration and maximize efficiencies.
Requirements
- Knowledge of policy issues related to corporate governance, stewardship, shareholder rights, and responsible investment.
- Understanding of corporate sustainability issues, particularly in the food sector.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Evidence of scoping and tracking projects and managing resources to time constraints.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Office 365 tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and communicate effectively.
- Information seeker with aptitude for problem-solving and holistic thinking.
- Experience interacting with business professionals and engaging a wide range of internal stakeholders.
- Proactive attitude and a confident, professional manner.
- Willingness to attend calls in different time zones outside normal working hours.
- Willingness to travel to conferences and events (less than 10% of the time).
