About the Role

The Client Service Manager performs client service functions, including new account onboarding, for a dedicated group of Institutional, Wholesale, and Platforms clients. This role works with the Relationship Manager and other MFS areas to service clients, maintain systems and processes, and ensure client needs are met accurately, consistently, and in compliance with MFS policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with the Sales and Relationship Management Team during the onboarding of new accounts and serves as a key point of contact for clients and internal business partners.
  • Facilitates the review and negotiation of contracts, investment guidelines, operational and regulatory documentation, and funding activity.
  • Works with Product Management and Investment Teams to identify and resolve client guideline issues.
  • Partners with Operations, Relationship Manager, and/or Sales Manager to ensure operational aspects of new onboarding are communicated and resolved.
  • Engages with clients to identify unique reporting or operational requirements.
  • Ensures timely, clear, and concise communication of client and prospect information.
  • Documents new requirements and procedures within department protocol and escalates areas of concern.
  • Creates and maintains onboarding cases within the Client Relationship Management system (CRM).
  • Presents upcoming new relationships at meetings and manages feedback received.
  • Assists the Relationship Manager in servicing existing clients.
  • Supports the resolution of operational issues identified by clients, consultants, custodian banks, or internally.
  • Works directly with clients and other MFS departments regarding cash flow notification, portfolio rebalancing, in-kind transition coordination, reporting requirements, compliance reporting and certifications, contract amendments, guideline changes, compliance matters, due diligence, and operational details.
  • Communicates client-initiated changes or updates to investments, working with Product Management, Institutional Portfolio Managers (IPMs), and Compliance to implement.
  • Assists with the communication and implementation of MFS-driven changes or enhancements to product guidelines.
  • Prepares for client meetings by providing relationship status and updates on completed and ongoing matters.
  • Participates in the preparation and finalization of portfolio review materials.
  • Works closely with other MFS departments to ensure strong team communication on operational and administrative matters and new projects.
  • Updates CRM with all client touch points.
  • Maintains client records, client contracts, and correspondence in firm databases.
  • Ensures work meets department standards and initiates procedures to improve processes and quality control.
  • Collaborates with Sales/Relationship Coordinators globally on an as-needed basis.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Willingness to complete other studies as regionally required.
  • Relevant experience within the financial services industry.
