About the Role
The Project Director is responsible for directing multiple projects or a single high-volume project. This includes setting objectives, managing planning, scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting, contractor performance, resource and safety management, and providing technical direction to ensure timely compliance with all standards. The role involves providing clear direction on strategic goals, translating them into business and performance measures, and ensuring the project delivers outstanding client-driven service.
Responsibilities
- Manage overall planning, coordination, and control of the project for functional and financial viability.
- Manage cost-effective plans and processes for all project phases.
- Manage quality control procedures in all related activities.
- Manage the execution of planning software to track variations, disruptions, and impacts.
- Monitor all activities, ensuring proper meetings and coordination among teams for deliverables, inspections, and sign-offs.
- Oversee engineering design and supervision aspects.
- Maintain overall cost control by evaluating and advising on cost efficiency and capability.
- Establish and maintain cost allocation schedules, with periodic reporting to management and clients.
- Determine procurement targets in relation to direct and indirect costs and project schedules.
- Ensure proper utilization of cost control measures and track variations.
- Strategize approaches to ensure project earnings.
- Participate in the development and completion of all project tender processes.
- Manage allocations of assets and liabilities, including subcontractor payments, bonding, and cash flows, ensuring timely ERP system setup for payments.
- Lead in the identification, control, assessment, minimization, or elimination of project risks and hazards.
- Lead the team and oversee Human Resources processes, including personnel planning, staff evaluation, and dispute management.
- Lead commercial and cost planning, value engineering, contract administration, and estimations, quantifying, strategizing, and reconciling project claims.
- Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution.
Requirements
- Professional Client Management and Contract Development skills.
- Effective project management skills.
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proven leadership and management skills to optimize team management and development.
- Proven ability in the execution of complex construction projects.
- Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate, and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.
- ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills.
- Minimum 15 years of working experience.
- Minimum 10 years in a relevant management/leadership position.
- 5 years of experience in GCC is a plus.
