About the Role

The Consumables & Supplies Product Specialist is a senior technical-commercial role focused on driving new business in strategic markets and customers to increase Agilent’s market share and recurring revenue in laboratory supplies, sample preparation, and LC/GC columns. This role serves as a regional leader for consumables strategy, collaborating across Sales, Marketing, and Service, and is a key contributor to major account growth initiatives. It requires autonomy and creativity, combining product expertise with a focus on workflows for GCMS and LCMS in Pharma, Biopharma, and emerging contaminants like PFAS.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute consumables growth strategies for the Japan market in collaboration with sales managers.
  • Identify opportunities and support sales teams in creating new business or displacing competitors by applying data analytics, market knowledge, and cross-functional customer insights.
  • Lead consumables-focused planning in quarterly account reviews, providing expert insights into lab operations and purchasing trends.
  • Engage with strategic accounts and influencers to identify unmet customer needs, prepare for new product introductions, and drive sales to exceed targets.
  • Deliver customer trainings and workshops.
  • Collaborate with AE and PS teams to provide advanced technical consultations, troubleshooting, and workflow optimization.
  • Collect and present post-sales experience (Voice of the Customer) to support repeat purchases and provide feedback for product/method optimization or future products.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction through proactive communication and follow-through.
  • Partner with Account Managers, Field Service Engineers, and Application Scientists to co-develop integrated customer strategies.
  • Coach sales teams on consumables positioning, applications, and workflow value propositions.
  • Act as a regional consumables champion, representing customer needs to Product Management and Marketing.
  • Track competitive activity, market shifts, and usage patterns to inform business strategies and identify priority markets.
  • Support regional product launches, promotional campaigns, and demand-generation activities.
  • Provide actionable feedback to R&D and Marketing teams regarding product performance, customer needs, and innovation opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Life Science, Analytical Science, or a related discipline.
  • 6–8+ years of relevant laboratory, technical, or technical-commercial experience.
  • Demonstrated success in business development or consumables sales.
  • Strong understanding of analytical workflows (LC/GC, sample prep, MS consumables, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • English language proficiency (ability to read/write/participate in internal meetings conducted in English).
