About the Role

Join Suno as an early member of our Android team at the Senior or Staff level. You will help define the architecture and user experience of a product that is changing how the world makes music. You'll work directly with the founding team, shaping technical and product decisions from the ground up. The Suno Android app functions as a real-time AI creation studio, a social platform, and a showcase for advanced generative audio technology.

Responsibilities

Design and build Suno’s Android app across creation, discovery, playback, and social experiences
Create foundational abstractions and libraries for performant, highly interactive media experiences
Own feature development from zero to one and beyond, including scoping, shipping, and post-launch iteration
Collaborate with product and design teams to shape the app's feel, flow, and direction
Optimize for performance, responsiveness, and user delight, focusing on render times, audio latency, and micro-interactions
Instrument and monitor the app’s health, iterating rapidly based on real user data
Set the technical direction for the Android platform and define architectural patterns
Mentor engineers and elevate code quality, abstractions, and engineering culture

Requirements

5+ years shipping production Android apps
Advanced expertise in Kotlin and modern Android development frameworks and best practices
Experience building fluid, polished animations and translating design prototypes into robust, production-grade code
A keen understanding of Android's distinct capabilities and how to leverage them in a media-rich application
Strong sense for performance, including profiling, benchmarking, and fixing issues across UI rendering, memory, and network efficiency
An obsession with great user experience and attention to detail
Comfort with ambiguity, including scoping work, making tradeoffs, and shipping without a fully-defined spec
Collaborative spirit and strong communication skills, working fluidly with designers, PMs, and backend teams
Prior experience with ExoPlayer and Media3 for audio/video playback
Experience working with audio streaming pipelines or real-time audio on Android
Experience with social product features such as feeds, follow graphs, notifications, and publishing flows
Background designing or consuming mobile-first APIs in close collaboration with backend engineers
Track record of building 0→1 consumer products at a fast-moving startup
Technical leadership or mentorship experience (especially important for Staff candidates)
A genuine love of music — listening, creating, or performing
Applicants must be eligible to work in the US
This role is a 5 day a week in-office role in our Chelsea, New York City office.
