About the Role

AirAsia X is seeking a dynamic Station Manager for Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND). This role ensures effective management of station operations, focusing on on-time departures, baggage handling, and travel document compliance while maintaining high safety, security, and service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure optimum payload, safe, efficient, and on-time departure of flights.
  • Oversee passenger, baggage, and cargo handling processes according to company procedures.
  • Coordinate and monitor Ground Handler performance to meet service standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with Company's Accounting procedures at the station.
  • Maintain close rapport with governmental and regulatory authorities.
  • Supervise and monitor Ground Handlers in flight handling.
  • Provide managerial and administrative support to station personnel.
  • Handle and be accountable for monetary transactions at the station.
  • Interface with agencies regarding station performance and profitability.
  • Recommend and implement improvements for optimal station performance and cost reduction.
  • Submit Daily Station Reports and compulsory monthly reports to Headquarters.
  • Make operational and cost-related decisions within the scope of authority.
  • Strive for zero defects in ground handling for passengers, baggage, cargo, and in-flight services.
  • Coordinate with Ground Handlers and Airport CIQ authorities for on-time performance.
  • Represent the company in meetings related to airport development and operations.
  • Attend official functions on behalf of the company.
  • Maintain liaison with various government agencies (CIQ, Police, CAA, Security).
  • Undertake other tasks directed by Head Office regarding operations and administration.
  • Verify invoices for station operations and administration before submitting to Finance.
  • Handle guest complaints by coordinating with Ground Handlers for prompt actions.
  • Exercise cost control on all station expenditures to ensure they are within budget.
  • Ensure station management and administration comply with regulatory requirements for safety, security, crisis, and emergency.
  • Prepare and compile reports, statistics, and budgets for the station as required by Head Office.
  • Accountable for the revision and updating of station manuals.
  • Ensure all audit aspects are in accordance with requirements.
  • Make decisions on low-risk events related to aircraft operations safety and/or security.
  • Consult HOD for any medium-risk events.
  • Ensure ground handling operations comply with applicable regulations and AAX Standards.

Requirements

  • A combination of university diploma/degree or above, in any discipline, and/or extensive experience in airport operations environment.
  • At least three years of team leader experience in airline Guest Services and operations, preferably as Duty Executive.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and influencing skills.
  • Experienced in cultivating relationships with airport authorities and regulatory bodies.
  • Experienced in managing a diverse workforce across different shifts/rosters.
  • Proficient in Government regulations (customs, immigration, and related matters).
  • Proficient in Company policy and Standard Operation Procedures.
  • Proficient in Dangerous goods acceptance and handling.
  • Proficient in Aircraft loading.
  • Proficient in Flight security procedures.
  • Proficient in Safety incident/hazard reporting and other key ground operations matters.
