About the Role
Yummi Joy is a vegan-friendly Espresso Bar, Ice "Cream", and confectionary shop, born out of Austin's iconic Toy Joy. We aim to create a harmonious and safe place for people to work and shop, offering creative freedom for our team to develop dynamic displays, social media posts, and new menu items.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service, greeting each person individually and making eye contact.
- Prepare and serve coffee and ice cream, and contribute to menu creation.
- Perform daily equipment maintenance, ensure facility cleanliness, and maintain health code compliance.
- Stock shelves and manage First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory.
- Create dynamic displays, social media posts, and new menu items.
Requirements
- Previous experience in front-of-house (FOH) coffee, confectionary, or food service.
- Passion for and knowledge of candy, coffee, and confections; vegan knowledge is a plus.
- Artistic skills, merchandising abilities, and creativity.
- A cheerful and positive attitude.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with all staff.
- Uphold respect for oneself, colleagues, and customers.
- Ability to lift and maneuver fixtures and product.
- Capacity to work the majority of an 8-hour shift on your feet.
- Availability for up to 29 hours per week.
