About the Role
We are seeking a versatile Human Resources Generalist to manage full-cycle recruitment, employee relations, health & safety coordination, and HR administration within dynamic operational settings. This role is crucial for talent acquisition, retention, and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for drivers and internal employees across multiple departments
- Develop and post job advertisements across various platforms and sourcing channels
- Conduct proactive headhunting and online candidate sourcing
- Participate in job fairs, open houses, recruitment events, and industry networking activities in Montreal & Toronto
- Promote company brand, culture, and benefits to attract qualified candidates
- Collaborate with managers to identify staffing needs and ensure strong job fit
- Maintain and update candidate database, ensuring accurate tracking and timely follow-ups
- Screen agency candidates to ensure alignment with company standards and hiring criteria
- Support driver retention initiatives through engagement and follow-up strategies
- Build and maintain strong internal and external recruitment networks and referral pipelines
- Provide orientation and onboarding sessions for new hires
- Partner with managers to support staffing needs and workforce planning
- Review HR materials regularly to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with departmental objectives
- Prepare employment-related documentation including offer letters and disciplinary correspondence
- Maintain accurate HR records for audit, compliance, and historical reference
- Support managers in addressing employee relations and disciplinary matters professionally and consistently
- Conduct employee surveys (new hires, active employees, and terminations) to identify trends and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain and update employee files, HR databases, and internal tracking systems
- Process employee status changes such as new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, and salary adjustments
- Ensure accuracy of payroll-related documentation and coordinate with payroll for updates and corrections
- Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries
- Prepare HR reports and summaries for management (headcount, turnover, recruitment metrics, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with employment standards, internal policies, and organizational procedures
- Assist in audits and internal HR reviews by organizing required documentation and records
- Draft HR correspondence, memos, and official communications
- Support training coordination and maintain training records and certifications tracking
- Monitor probation periods and ensure timely follow-up with managers on evaluations
- Chair and oversee Health & Safety Committees for multiple locations (Etobicoke & Brampton)
- Coordinate safety committee members and activities
- Administer workplace injury and WSIB claims, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up
Requirements

- Experience managing HR administration in fast-paced operational environments
- Skilled in talent acquisition for specialized (drivers) and warehouse roles
