About the Role

As a Software Engineer I for Staples, you will join an established technology team to help lead technical innovation within the Staples Digital Solutions division. You will be responsible for the design, development, testing, implementation, and support of applications and related integrations. You will partner with both technical and business teams on multiple initiatives and drive new features and enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of Staples business processes and systems.
  • Lead the definition, design, development, testing, and implementation of software functionality using Agile methodology.
  • Create, modify, and design complex programs, modules, routines, scripts, and data objects with a focus on efficiency, performance, and reliability.
  • Advise business and technology teams on best practices for implementing features and enhancements.
  • Ensure technical solutions adhere to best practices, are reliable, maintainable, and scalable.
  • Conduct knowledge transition on solutions to application support teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in MIS or CS, or equivalent work experience.
  • Less than one year of relevant work experience in software application design/development.

Skills

  • Public cloud: Azure (preferred), AWS
  • Development skills in .NET, C#, HTML / CSS / JavaScript, SQL, NoSQL, or Angular
  • Knowledge of webservices (SOAP/REST), XML/JSON, messaging technologies.
  • Knowledge of database technologies such as SQL Server
  • Understanding of Windows OS, Linux
  • Exposure to agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of Software development best practices and processes
