About the Role
Pro Account Sales Associates (PASAs) build relationships and sell products to industrial, commercial, and other professional customers. This role involves providing outstanding customer service through product knowledge and developing professional customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Spend minimum of 25% of time pursuing new business, primarily on the sales floor, actively prospecting customers.
- Develop one-on-one relationships with Pro customers.
- Use knowledge of customer’s line of business to anticipate their needs.
- Ask questions to clarify customer needs for products and services.
- Demonstrate effective up-selling, add-on selling, and closing techniques.
- Maintain an organized system for profiling and tracking top accounts and developing new ones.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Follow-up with customers to ensure satisfaction and pursue future business.
- Partner with Store Management to resolve outstanding issues.
- Strive to meet personal and team goals (e.g., sales, quotes, credit accounts).
- Create an action plan with Supervisor to develop selling skills.
- Deliver sales presentations to potential customers outside of store at Supervisor's discretion.
- Create customer quotes and process fax, phone, and counter orders quickly and accurately.
- Communicate order information accurately to Pullers and Delivery Will Call Coordinators.
- Ensure orders are picked up and delivered by checking customer logbook.
- Train and inform Store Associates about the Pro Program and encourage total store involvement.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year receiving experience.
Skills
- Customer Service: Greet and engage with all customers, ensuring a positive experience and addressing inquiries.
- Product Knowledge Expertise: Maintain in-depth knowledge of products to build customer trust and foster long-term relationships.
- Store Standards: Drive execution of store events, uphold department standards, and ensure on-shelf availability.
