About the Role
Jericho Road Community Health Center is seeking a Manager of Maternal and Child Health to join the Community Health Department. This role involves designing, implementing, and evaluating health initiatives, coordinating programs, and building community relationships to improve maternal and child health outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evaluate maternal/child health, doula programs, and broader community health initiatives integrated into clinical spaces.
- Coordinate program logistics, monitor progress, and ensure fidelity to evidence-based practices.
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and local stakeholders.
- Represent JRCHC at relevant community meetings and advocacy events.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Electronic Medical Records and willingness to learn and teach others.
- Monitor and analyze program outcomes; maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Prepare regular reports on program performance, challenges, and successes.
- Develop and deliver educational materials and workshops on maternal/child health topics.
- Advocate for policies and practices that promote maternal/child health equity and access to doula services.
- Participate in initiatives that support social determinants of health and maternal/child wellness.
- Participate in strategic planning and special projects.
- Provide direct supervision to community health workers and doulas.
- Recruit, train, and supervise community health workers, doulas, and support staff.
- Provide support to Community Health workers in mediation and communication during escalated client/staff interactions.
- Perform dismissal procedures, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans as needed.
- Interview and onboard new CHWs and doulas.
- Establish work schedules and assignments for staff, manage time off requests and bi-weekly timecards in ADP.
- Work collaboratively with clinical operations staff to align maternal/child health initiatives with broader organizational goals.
- Report on and manage Car Seat Safety program.
- Receive and monitor incoming client referrals.
- Monitor CHW appointment documentation and ensure detailed case notes are completed.
- Assist doulas with recording visits and completing billing in the EMR.
- Coordinate doula training and assist with the credentialing and recertification process.
- Manage doula on-call phone 2 weeks/month.
- Complete weekly Kaleida interpretation forms.
- Attend weekly OB sign-out meeting to review upcoming deliveries and notify providers of any social concerns of clients.
Requirements
- Prior experience in program/project management in a public health, nonprofit, or community setting.
- Experience developing and implementing community health programming.
- Background working with diverse, multilingual, and multicultural populations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
